Cycling Proficiency Levels for Maasai Mara: What You Need to Know
Another inquiry we frequently encounter pertains to the required proficiency levels for our cycling experiences, such as the forthcoming Migration Gravel Race Ride Along.
It is imperative to note that if one is capable of riding a bicycle (or not as you will read in a few seconds!), they are eligible to partake in our journeys.
The admissibility criteria are that straightforward.
In October of 2022, during our last visit to Maasai Mara, our guests possessed varying degrees of cycling proficiency.
However, their reasons for visiting Kenya were diverse, ranging from reconnecting with their homeland as citizens of Canada, indulging in photography or taking a holiday after a significant biking expedition.
Consequently, their riding requirements were equally varied.
Some participants opted for a brisk pace, desiring to traverse vast distances swiftly, while others, such as the photographer, sought to capture the scenic beauty and thus pedalled at a slower pace with frequent halts.
The adventurer, on the other hand, preferred a more leisurely approach and would occasionally resort to utilizing the support vehicle along with their bike.
We made sure to cater to each guest's individual preferences, which is why we limit the number of participants - to ensure a bespoke experience for all.
If one aspires to keep pace with elite athletes and complete each stage of the race daily, they will be provided with a support team (@migrationgravelrace pros have to compete semi-supported).
However, for those who prefer a more relaxed pace, the option of utilizing the support vehicle to reach the finish line, camp, hotel, or wildlife viewing areas in comfort will always remain at their disposal.
It is also worth mentioning that one need not ride a bicycle to join our excursion!
Some prospective guests simply wish to attend as spectators or as the significant other of a racer.
We will present a plethora of options to occupy your day while still being a part of the Migration Gravel Race Ride Along.
